Bramerton Road Community Church is part of the United Reformed Church which was formed in 1972 with the joining together of the Congregational and Presbyterian denominations.  It is part of the world-wide family of Reformed Churches, drawing on the traditions which grew from the time of Reformation when many Christians believed that the Church needed to be reformed and become more like the New Testament model.

The name ‘United Reformed Church’ does not only mean that change has happened in the past, but that there is a commitment to continued change in the future.  One of the cherished mottos of the Reformed Church is ‘semper reformanda’ – ‘always reforming’.

This church has been in Hockley since 1926 and continues to strive to be effective in communicating the good news of Jesus Christ to the community, to introduce people to Jesus as their Saviour and to help them grow in their relationship with God.

As a church we support various charities and organisations in the community and the wider world.

This year our Harvest Project raised funds for the Rainbow Room in the children's block at Southend Hospital. This Quiet Room is for bereaved parents and is in the process of being established. Produce is donated to HARP.
